Program Mission Statement: (self-reported)

The Parent-Infant Partner (PIP) program provides information and support in the early months of pregnancy and through the first year of the baby’s life. The program provides a trained mentor who meets with the client in their home; supports the client and child to grow together in a healthy environment with trust and love; encourages the parent to share their feelings and concerns; assists the parent to understand that all babies develop and grow differently; answer questions, and gives information about pregnancy and parenting. The mentor serves as a non-judgmental support person.

The PIP program goals are no infant deaths, volunteers/mentors trained and matched with at-risk pregnant women, stressed importance of prenatal care, immunizations and healthy lifestyles, safe sleep issues, breastfeeding, and infant/child development.
