Change Process: (self-reported)
Program participants change because they experience stability because their
evictions are prevented. They also experience less health risks because they have heat or air conditioning in their homes. In the process they get a greater sense of the importance of budgeting through budgeting counseling, mentoring through the 30-60-90 day follow up, and access to resources in the community previously unknown to them through our community network. We very often pray for them and many of them are encouraged and strengthened through prayer and having a one-on-one experience with loving staff member. Their employment changes often because of referrals to workforce groups and the job board listings. Because of our services and referrals to resources, the feeling of being alone is removed because they know that we are always there for them and that they are never truly alone as we remind them of the presence of God and as long as Hosea Feed the Hungry is there.
