Outcomes & Measures: (self-reported)

Outcome 1
To encourage women who call, especially those who are abortion-minded to come to our center.

Measure
Appointments are made and followed up. If the woman will not come in, we make an attempt to counsel on the phone with the emphasis that women deserve better than abortion and they should make an informed decision considering all their options.

Outcome 2
To change the hearts of women who are abortion-minded

Measure
Each client is interviewed and information written on an intake sheet which is kept confidential. This form includes biographical information, health/medical information and specifically asks if they are for or against abortion. And secondly, if they are pregnant are they considering abortion. We follow up with the client until they either confirm they have had an abortion or until the baby is born. Statistics are kept, but the names are not associated with the statistics.

Outcome 3
To facilitate healthy pregnancies for all women

Measure
We make sure that all women are taken care of either through the social service system or by private physicians, at times, paying for the entire pre-natal care and delivery fees. We provide maternity clothes, cribs, car seats and strollers for those who are in need. We highly encourage adoption plans and give information about 3 different adoption agencies.

Outcome 4
To provide education about pregnancy and relationships

Measure
We have brochures and show non-graphic videos on abortion techniques, Post-Abortive Stress, chastity, sexually transmitted diseases, dangers of artificial contraception. To revere human life at all stages, to reserve sexuality for marriage and to cherish fertility as a gift are foundational to natural human health and happiness, regardless of religion.

Outcome 5
To assist and educate any woman asking for material assistance.

Measure
Women (and men too if they are available) are asked to view one of our videos, usually “Sex Has A Price Tag”. If they do not have the time, we mark on their card they need to see it the next time. We then give out diapers, clothing and other material assistance. We give information on other community resources and have waiting lists for items we cannot immediately provide.

Change Process: (self-reported)

Most abortion-minded women come to our center feeling trapped and desperate, and view abortion as an escape. Most became pregnant through pre-marital sexual relations that are often casual, so they have no expectation of emotional or financial support from their babies’ fathers. We come alongside these women to help them emerge from the maze of cultural misperceptions about the dignity of women and children, and counter-productive life-styles and choices. By helping these women understand their own human worth and that of their babies, and by providing them with life-affirming assistance, these women become convinced that they deserve far better options than the psychological devastation and physical perils of abortion. All program participants leave here more educated about life and life-skills. They become hopeful of a healthy and promising future for themselves and their children, whether they choose to raise their children or to allow their children to be adopted into loving homes. Women who opt for their dignity and for life are always deeply grateful, and are more likely to live in a way in which future pregnancies are welcome rather than dreaded. We often receive Christmas cards, wedding announcements, and Baptism invitations from grateful former clients, who become more charitable themselves. It is not unusual for people to return things that they no longer need. Married couples return for information about natural family planning. High school clients bring their friends to see the video on chastity, and others ask to work at our center for their community service hours.
