Board Activities

  • Formally reviews the performance of the chief executive officer at least once every two years.
  • Formally approves the budget.
  • Ensures that arrangements with outside fund raising firms are made in writing.
  • Receives information about the financial arrangements with such firms and, if applicable, the anticipated portion of the gross proceeds that goes to the organization.
  • Receives, at least quarterly, the organization's financial statement.
  • Receives, at least annually, an auditor's management letter and report.
  • Convenes an audit committee.

Change Process: (self-reported)

Program participants change by:

1. Becoming more positively connected to God and other people.

2. Building on their strengths and skills, they complete appropriate education or training so that they can find employment that will pay an adequate wage to support their families.

3. Recognizing what of their own behaviors lead to homelessness and changing negative behaviors.

4. Through intensive counseling, prayer and support, healing from the inside out so that feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness are replaced with hope and self-worth.

5. Learning how to engage in healthy and appropriate relationships with their children, family and employer.

6. Reducing debt significantly, opening a savings account, learning how to manage money.
