Outcomes & Measures: (self-reported)
Outcome 1
Show effectiveness of ministry in developing leadership capacity in at risk youth as they mature in Christ.
Measure
We have developed outcome-based Evaluations. Document where the youth are at in the beginning and measure the results or changes every six-weeks during the year. THereafter, the measurement continues from elementary, to middle school, to high school, and eventually through college.
Outcome 2
Data is collected to help us focus on the needs of each student. This allows us to measure weak and strong areas of growth, and to use the data to compare, and show results positive or negative.
Measure
Data is collected to measure growth every six weeks throughout the year. Data indicates that the timeline for most students is 4 or more years overall to show behavior modification over same period of time.
Outcome 3
Use Pre and Post test as prep for state mandated test. This allow insights on what area to concentrate on to assist in improvement.
Measure
Diagnostic test provide a vehicle to measure and compare the before and after results of each student. The test are given three times a year to prepare student for the state mandate test generally given at the end of the school year.
Outcome 4
We provide tutors, and mentors to assist the students in areas that need improvement. Also, we create a positive atmosphere for learning and reward students as they improve academically .
Measure
Students receive one on one tutoring for subjects that need improvement. Mentor provide one-on one time with students, and parents to discuss areas of need, or to inform of improvement.
Outcome 5
Overall program assist parents, and students how to get prepared for the future. CHANGE builds self-esteem, character, and leaders with integrity spiritually and academically.
Measure
The Word of God and academic enrichment, provided through mentoring and tutoring prepares students to think critically about their future. Most of all the data reveals growth on a personal and spiritual level year after year.
Change Process: (self-reported)
Project C.H.A.N.G.E., is a vehicle used to help motivate, encourage, teach, and develop at risk youth with the tools to be leaders for the future. In the city of Memphis, millions of dollars have been cut from the school budget each year consistently. HOC stands in the gap as a bridge for the academically at risk students in the City of Memphis. The HOC provides HOPE for the future as a mentoring and tutorial ministry, teaching the students to think critically about their future as "educated leaders". HOC creates an atmosphere of possibility for students to explore the areas of Science and Math as future career paths, in the midst of an education crisis in the Mid-South.
