Program Mission Statement: (self-reported)
To provide support, skills and resources for people in financial distress to become financially self-sufficient. Neighbor to Neighbor (NTN) helps financially challenged people break out of the cycle of financial dependence and live more stable, rewarding lives. Catholic Charities developed the Neighbor to Neighbor program to empower people to break their cycle of dependency and assist people to change self-defeating thinking and behaviors into positive, solution-oriented thinking and behaviors. NTN is a faith-based, 14-lesson course, which helps people take concrete steps to improve their lives. To encourage NTN participants to use their faith as a personal strength to help them find the motivation and ability to become financially self-sufficient. Prayer is a fundamental part of Neighbor to Neighbor. Each class begins and ends with prayer. Many of the Guided Imageries are scripture-based. Every class ends with a Faith Sharing component that puts the dayÕs topic in practical perspective.
