Change Process: (self-reported)

The participants in this program are not given a free handout. Instead, through the "Earn While You Learn" program, the participants earn what is needed for them and their baby. They become better educated and are better prepared to raise their children. Before coming into the program they typically lack the basic parenting skills, and many do not have the resources to purchase a crib or car seat. By learning these basic skills, parents have a better opportunity to cope with the challenges of raising their children and then lessen the risk of child abuse. They are truly changed physically, emotionally and spiritually by the time they have completed the entire course of the "Earn While You Learn" program.
